April 7th 2009 was the release date for the "Crank 2: High Voltage" original motion picture soundtrack, scored by the one and only Mike Patton. Although this soundtrack finally saw it's much needed vinyl release just last year (thanks to Enjoy The Ride Records), the original release was on Compact Disc and Digital Download. The soundtrack to this film is nothing less than anything you would expect to hear from Patton, utterly brilliant. It also marks his first full length feature film scoring debut (his first introduction to scoring being for the short indie film "A Perfect Place"). One that I myself have listened to over and over, time and time again, I can say that it delivers just as much as any of his personal releases, regardless of if you've seen the movie or not. Although the movie itself is an interesting and entertaining action/black comedy, the level of straight up raunch throughout may leave something to be desired for some, or a straight forward brutal adventure experience for others. Either way, it's always best to form an opinion for one's self...
